Extremes in weather always provide poetry prompts

Cycles 

Such heavy rain
For our dry state
And then the downpour ceases. 

Sun shining again 
The birds revel in the change
Insects and other things to forage. 

Life is about cycles 
Some are very dour
Others unrepentantly pleasant. 

And we wait to see
What the next wave might be
Repetition the common theme.
